The widening and modernization project of the E-60 Highway is a key part of the development of the East-West corridor in the country. The aim is to increase road capacity for goods transit, improve level of road safety and significantly reduce travel time between the cities on the Black Sea and the region of the capital city Tbilisi.

SGS has been involved in the design works of Section 2 between Zemo Osiauri and Chumateleti (km5+800-km14+000) which includes among the main works the construction of 3 tunnels and 11 viaducts. In particular, design works include:

–          General geotechnical consultancy

–          Construction design of tunnels T1, T2, T3 (total length of 4050m)

–          Construction design of tunnel portals, artificial and canopy tunnels

–          Technical support during construction
