Cityringen project – the metro ring in the center of Copenhagen – is one of the most important works in North Europe. It involved the construction of two 17.4km long tunnels excavated through TBM and 17 new stations located about 35m deep below ground level.

SGS was involved in the geotechnical and structural design – from preliminary phase to detailed design – of 5 stations (Marmorkirken, Trianglen, Vilbenshus Runddel, Frederiksberg, Kongens Nytorv), of a shaft (Norrebro Parken) and of a tunnel excavated in traditional method (Norrebro Parken Cavern) for the TBM launch from the shaft of Norrebro Parken.
