The Brescia Metro is a light automatic metro line which connects the districts in the North of the city to the South-East areas passing through the historical centre. Nowaday it represents one of the top alternative mobility services of the whole city transportation. Tunnel excavations were carried out thourgh a closed TBM in EPB mode (9.3m diameter) and were completed in 2009. SGS prepared the geotechnical design of the whole line, produced the construction design of all the retaining structures of the shallow stations between Ospedale and Prealpino and between Volta and Poliambulanza, and assisted the TBM conditioning design during the critical section between Stazione FS and Volta station.
